MALS-26 has provided logistical and maintenance support for the squadrons of MAG-26 since 1952. Detachments deploy with squadrons going to the Caribbean and Middle East.
LINEAGE
Activated 16 June 1952, at Cherry Point, North
Carolina, as Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron MAG-26
(HEDRON MAG-26).
Redesignated 15 February 1954 as Headquarters and Maintenance
Squadron 26 (H&MS-26).
Relocated during July 1954 to New River, North Carolina.
Redesignated during October 1988 as Marine Aviation Logistics
Squadron 26.
